Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, FNSE, FNIEEE, FRMN

President (Worldwide)

Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele is the Executive Director (Engineering and Technical Services), Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited. His career spans engineering management, manufacturing, construction, venturing, governance and engineering consulting from 1982 till date, Oyedele has worked in both the public and private sectors.

He started his career with DAFEC Consultants as an engineer whose responsibility was to design and prepare tenders for rural electrification projects as well as supervising and monitoring the implementation of the projects. He proceeded to Oyo State Ministry of Works and Transport where he served for two years with similar responsibilities as his previous job. He headed the sales department of Dynapower Nigeria Limited for the next two years after which he consulted for Edison Group and Partners where he designed electrical engineering projects and services per clients’ briefs and terms and also supervised project executions.

Engr. Oyedele’s innovative and leadership skills later saw him serve in a number of executive capacities in some bluechip companies carrying out cutting edge businesses in Nigeria between 1987 and 1991. As Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer, Oyedele set the companies business and strategic agenda, negotiated contracts and ensured quality and standard of jobs are maintained. Until his appointment with Niger Delta Power Holding Company on September 1, 2016, Oyedele was the Managing Director of Matcom Limited. A very successful construction company he set up and run since 1992. He has also been actively involved as a political organiser and canvasser, exclusively for parties and candidates that shares his sentiments and visions for Nigeria

Engr. IfeOluwa Oyedele is successful entrepreneur, a fearless yet sound politician, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, Electrical Engineering from the University of Lagos in 1982. He is a member, Nigerian Society of Engineers and Institute of Directors.

Chief (Dr.) Bala Yesufu

1st National Vice President

Chief (Dr.) Bala Yesufu is a graduate of Philosophy/History from the University of Lagos and holds an MBA from the Lagos State University, Lagos, Nigeria. He holds a Doctor of Science Honorary Causa in Management and Corporate Governance from the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominica.

He worked variously at Portland Paints and Products Nigeria Limited as Area Sales Manager for the North East Region; K.M. International, Manufacturers of Kessingsheen Cosmetics and Beauty Products as General Manager and Nigerian Breweries Plc (a part of Heineken International N.V), as Export Manager and later First Heineken Brand Manager, culminating in a Public and Government Affairs role as Public Affairs Manager in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

He joined Cadbury Nigeria Plc (a subsidiary of Mondelēz International) in June 2013 as Director, Corporate and Government Affairs, West Africa, and a member of Cadbury West Africa Leadership Team.

Bala is currently the Chief Consultant at Charles Consulting and Management Services Limited. He has a rich pedigree in Export Operations, Sales and Marketing, Corporate and Government Affairs, and General Management garnered over three decades in West Africa across a range of industries, including Cement and Decorative Paints, Cosmetics and Beauty Products and Fast Moving Consumer Goods.

Bala is a prolific writer and author of the Book; Export Architecture Roadmap: The Nigerian and Global Perspectives – a book principally to guide Policy formulation and Execution in the Non-Oil Export Space.

Lady (Barr.) Azuka Azinge

2nd National Vice President

Lady Azuka Azinge graduated from the prestigious University of Lagos where she obtained a BA Hons in Philosophy/ History in 1982. Not being satisfied with that as her ambition was to be a Lawyer, she went on to obtain an LLB Hons Degree from the same University in 1988 and called to the Nigerian Barr in 1989 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Lady Azinge is a woman of many parts who has had a wide range of experiences in her quest for excellence. she is a woman of substance and many parts. She commenced her legal carrier with practice in some private law firms in Lagos and later joined the Civil Liberties organization (CLO), where she started the woman’s prison project in 1991 and is still in existence.

She ran the Programme for 1 year from where she joined the Ford Foundation, an International US grant making organization in 1992.. She also worked as National Programme Officer for Canadian international Development Agency (CIDA) in Nigeria from 1996 to 1999. One her life's ambition was to work with the United Nations and she grabbed that opportunity when she got an offer to work as Country Coordinator UNDP Civic Education Programme 1999. She was there for only 1 year as the Bureaucracy was so frustrating for her to achieve her goals under the programme. She left and decided to join then Public Service with the singular aim of making an impact , especially addressing the bureaucracy pot holes in the system. The civil service section of her career started at the Security and exchange Commission, where she served for one year before moving to The Corporate Affairs Commission in 2002 as an AssistantDirector and rose to the position of Registrar General.

Lady Azinge’s work ethics, hard work and the grace of God got her to that level, she is a lady who does not give up nor gets discouraged easily. She changed the narrative in the commission by ensuring prompt and efficient service delivery in the system. She left a legacy especially her contribution to improving Nigeria's rating on the World Bank Ease of Doing Business world index. She is a member of the NBA, IBA, FIDA and many other professional and charity organisations. She is a fellow of several renowned institutions like Fellow of ICMC, ISMC, NIM, IOD Association of Corpote Governance Practitioners, to mention a few.

She was the first and only woman to have attained the prestigious position of Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, since its creation in 1990.

Chief Adebisi Ogundipe

National Secretary

Chief Adebisi Ogundipe is a Legal practitioner and a Principal Partner of Adebisi Ogundipe & Co. He is also presently the CEO of BIMS Consulting Services Ltd.

He worked at WAPIC Insurance as the Company Secretary from February 2007 to February 2013 and he was the Group Administrator and Personnel Manager of De Tastee Fried Chicken from May 2002 to April 2004.

Chief Adebisi Ogundipe was the former, Head of Treasury Primrose Savings and Loans, and the former Head of Consumer Banking Ideal Savings and Loans.

He has also imparted knowledge to younger generations by lecturing at Lagos State polytechnic, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.

Mr. Harris Alade

National Treasurer

Mr. Alade, Akinsehinwa Sanya Harris is a Professional and Practicing Accountant. He runs a firm of Chartered Accountants, Harris Alade & Co. as Managing Partner. He is a graduate of Economics from the Faculty of Social Science, University of Lagos (1984).

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) with 28 years of post-qualification experience both in the private sector and professional practice. He had audit training at a reputable International accounting firm named Panell Kerr Forster between 1985-1990, where he had great exposure to all facets of accountancy from a very early stage in life. He has worked in different levels, from Internal Audit Manager to the level of finance Director between 1985 and 2011.

Mr. Alade, Akinsehinwa Sanya Harris has over the years, trained treasurers and other accounting personnel on accounting software, general financial oversight, funding and fundraising, financial planning and budgeting etc. He has been an Independent Auditor to the alumni association for ten (10) years, providing a platform for understanding the association’s accounting and financial systems deeply.

Mr. Rasulu Taiwo

National Financial Secretary

Mr. Rasulu Taiwo is a Chartered Accountant, Financial Consultant, and the founder of RASOLUTION Consult and TRANSULT Nigeria, specializing in financial consulting and production of software.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) – Britain. He holds an ACCA certificate on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). He is also a member of the ICAN’s Faculty of Forensic Accounting. He holds a Certificate in I.T-based Forensic Accounting.

He is currently the Head of Finance & Accounts of a Lagos state-owned general hospital. He is a Lead Lecturer at SAFE Professional Associates, Lead Lecturer at of KPMG Academy, Facilitator for ICAN programmes, and consultants to leading companies in Nigeria.

Dr. Abdul Gbadamosi

Dr. Abdul Olalekan Gbadamosi is a descendant of Alara Royal family of Ilara-Epe, Lagos and the current Bashorun of Ilara- Epe, Lagos state.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law, doctorate degree in Business Administration, Masters in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management.

He has imparted knowledge over the years – lecturing at the University of Lagos, Faculty of Management Sciences at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

He is a multiple award-winning Scholar and member of various professional bodies like NIM, AIPMN and an associate member of the Institute of Operations Research of Nigeria.

Hon. Olumide Akinola

He is a graduate of Philosophy, University of Lagos. As an undergraduate, he served as the PRO of the Faculty of Arts Students Association (FASA).

He was a member of the University of Lagos Students’ Union (ULSU) Transportation Committee and also a Parliamentarian of the same Union (1995) after which he contested for the post of ULSU President (1996).

Mr. Akinola Olumide Michael was a member of the State Mobilization Committee for the Governorship Election 2007 and served as a Special Adviser to the Chairman, Somolu Local Government (2008-2011).

Mr. Akinola Olumide Michael works as a Supervisory Councillor for Health, Somolu Local Government since 2017 till date.

Prof. Khalid Adekoya

Prof Khalid Olajide Adekoya is a Professor of Genetics in the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics, University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. He has his undergraduate degree in Biology and graduated from University of Lagos in 1987; Master of Philosophy in Biological Sciences with specialization in Genetics in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Genetics from the University of Lagos in 2009. He is a resourceful, hard-working and dedicated Biologist with an outstanding academic background, a good publication record and significant experience in teaching, research and administration at all levels of Education. Possesses excellent presentation skills and can prepare comprehensive documentation and reports as required. Skilled in data processing and in a range of scientifically relevant software packages. Works well both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating the motivation and organisation required to meet demanding targets. Combines an analytical and professional approach with excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate concisely at all levels. He has over twenty years of experience in teaching, research and administration at the tertiary level of education.

He is experienced in designing and formulating research in diverse areas of Biological Sciences such as Genetics, Toxicology, Environmental, Forensics and Molecular Biology, supervised over 150 undergraduate projects, more than 60 Masters and Postgraduate diploma research projects and co-supervised 10 Ph.D. Thesis in Genetics, Genetic Toxicology and Molecular Genetics in which 4 have successfully completed their Doctoral Thesis. He serves on editorial boards as reviewer/Sub-Editor in over 10 scientific journals. He has also served as expert/examiner or PG representative to over 15 Ph.D. oral examinations.

He has worked as Sub-Dean School of Postgraduate Studies and served on several committees in the Department Faculty and the University. He is an elected member of Senate of University of Lagos. He has contributed nationally as resource person and National Biology expert for Ministry of Education, West African Examinations Council and National Examination Council at various times. He has also been a resource person to 2nd World Bank/UNILAG STEP B project training on ICT tools for teaching of the Post Basic level. He has been an assessor at the Competitive Agricultural Research Grant Scheme proposals in West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP) in 2014 and 2015 and achieved membership of eight professional and academic groups has 40 publications in local and international journals , won and managed six grants and have attended over 50 conferences locally and internationally.

Mr. Lekan Ajisafe

Mr. Olalekan Ajisafe graduated from the prestigious University of Lagos with a BSc (Hons) in Insurance. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Chartered Insurance Institute (London). Also, a member of the institute of Directors in Nigeria and United Kingdom, He has a master’s degree from London Graduate School and Honorary Doctorate degree from Commonwealth University. He has over 20 years’ experience in oil and gas, aviation, and general risk.

As an astute insurance professional brokers, he has worked on specialize insurance accounts such as Oil and Gas, Aviation, Energy and Power accounts, making him one of the few experts in those fields in the insurance broking sub-sector. He has worked out partnership with London Lloyds insurance market and some notable Insurance Brokers in UK, USA and South Africa.

Prior to joining us at Post Assurance Brokers Limited, Mr. Olalekan Ajisafe worked at various organizations, including Elmac Assurance Ltd, Gold Link Insurance Plc and First Guaranty Risk Solutions, where he was Head of Business Development and was instrumental in turning around the fortunes of the company. He later joined Capstone Insurance Brokers as Managing Director/CEO, helping to turn the company into a profit-making organization for the period he was at the helm of affairs. Mr. Olalekan Ajisafe, left Capstone Insurance Brokers in year 2012 to join forces with the new management at Post Assurance Brokers Limited. Mr. Olalekan Ajisafe is a Director of many organizations’ including Standard Street Manpower Limited a utility and manpower provision company. Currently, Mr. Olalekan Ajisafe is an Executive Director of Post Assurance Brokers Limited with no significant control over relevant transaction.

Mr. Olalekan Ajisafe is a member of various professional bodies amongst are Chartered Insurance Institute London, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Nigeria Institute of Directors, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Nigerian America Chamber of Commerce.

About us

The University of Lagos Alumni Association came into existence in 1969, four (4) years after the first 41 graduates were turned out of the University that was established in 1962. The idea of the Alumni Association was conceived when it was considered necessary to create an organization that would embrace different generations of the University. The body was expected to play a dominant role in the life of the University by reflecting the views of its graduates.
